Finish Tips

Obviously finish is an important factor in determining how your fixture will look. Clawfoot Classics fixtures are available in the following finishes.
Natural brass is a warm but high maintenance finish. Clawfoot Classics sells polishes that will help preserve the finish. However, even with frequent polishing, all unprotected brass will tarnish in time.
Chrome is a sophisticated finish. Solid brass fixtures are electroplated with chrome to provide a finish that lasts. Chrome requires frequent cleanings to maintain its shine.
Polished nickel is our solid brass fixtures that have been heavily electroplated with nickel to provide a modern finish that resists tarnishing.
Matte nickel is polished nickel that is hand-brushed to highlight the beauty of the nickel. The matte finish hides scratches, fingerprints, and water spots making it a very low maintenance finish.
Satin nickel is brushed nickel with a smooth lustrous appearance. It is slightly more glossy than matte finish.
Oil rubbed bronze is a handsome charcoal-colored finish. Our oil rubbed bronze is a remarkable flat finish that is sure to draw attention.
Antique bronze is a striking burgundy-brown finish. The antiquing process results in darker almost black areas around details.
Old bronze is a rich chocolate brown finish that darkens around detail to provide an Old World charm.
Porcelain is a traditional finish. Porcelain is also easy to clean--which makes it a wonderful selection for lavatory handles for homes with children.
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) polished brass is a tarnish-resistant, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-resistant finish. PVD is a process that makes the brass finish an integral part of the faucet.
Supercoat brass is a virtually care-free finish. The Supercoat protective finish is perfect for those who appreciate the look of brass but wish to avoid the necessity of polishing. Supercoating is a two-part epoxy that is applied electrostatically and baked on to insure a lasting shine. It is the industry standard for beauty and durability. Supercoat brass is absolutely guaranteed for as long as the original purchaser owns their home.
Supercoat copper has the polished appearance of a freshly minted penny. Like brass, unprotected copper will tarnish in time. Supercoat copper has a protective coating that retards tarnish and helps to maintain the polished finish.
Note: Supercoated items should be wiped gently with a soft cloth after each use. Plumber's putty should not be used for installation. Use of plumber's putty, detergents or abrasive cleansers will void the warranty of the finish as they cause deterioration of the coating.
